Peter Laul, a graduate of St. Petersburg Conservatory (from the class of Professor Alexander Sandler) is known as an excellent piano virtuoso and one of the best performers of music by Alexander Scriabin. The First prize-winner in Bremen (1977) and at the Alexander Scriabin Competition in Moscow (2000), Laul was awarded special prizes for the best performance of music by Bach, Schubert, and Scriabin.
The pianist’s recitals have brought him to almost every prestigious concert hall in Moscow and St. Petersburg, as well as abroad where he has performed in such venues as the Auditorium du Louvre, the Théâtre de la Ville, the Théâtre du Châtelet and the Musée d’Orsay in Paris, the Lincoln Center in New York, the Amsterdam Concertgebouw, the Vredenburg in Utrecht, Die Glocke in Bremen, the Montpellier Corum, the Opera City Hall in Tokyo, collaborating with such world famous conductors as Valery Gergiev, Maxim Shostakovich and Jean-Claude-Casadesus.
In 2003 Peter Laul was awarded the honorary medal “For Achievements in Culture” by the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation.
